Great Week! Bonus~ Buffalo Bills Game

Hey guys so this week was awesome!! I love being with Elder Miller!
We are so similar and get along very well! We are both from Utah, oldest of three, we came out together, we are both going to Utah State, we both love basketball, we have served in the same areas and know the same people, etc... So it's awesome!

Transfer day was good to see a bunch of old friends. President put Elders Glenn and Jones together who came out with me and Miller. Then we came back and went and helped this less active member move all of her old nasty stuff into a storage unit. It was soooo gross!

We have had a couple good lessons this week with our investigators, less actives, and we have talked to lots of new people. He college students are back in town so it's awesome! It's really nice to have people here our age and we are going to really try to take advantage of it because we are just like college students. We have talked with a bunch and we are pretty close with a few now and been to some school events so it's really good for finding.

We had Lee come to sacrament meeting this week. And one of the cool things I got to do this week was go to a Bills game with a less active member and be able to talk with him and he came to sacrament today so that was awesome! We were able to get the tickets from one  of Elder Millers old investigators and they were really good seats and I think it was great to be able to fellowship with the member. He is our age and decided not to go on a mission and he only comes every once in a while so hopefully it helped.

Have a great week guys!

Staying Brockport for another transfer

Hey guys!

Had a pretty good week this week and it went by really fast!
So Monday since we have been handing out so many Book of Mormon in the zone, we had a zone barbecue in Batavia on Monday. We have handed out 112 in Brockport. It was super fun! We had some good lessons with a couple of people like Joseph and Lee and we were able to have Bro. Warren come to the lessons with Joseph and gave him a ride to church this Sunday so that was great! He really likes church and wants to get baptized; the only thing holding him back at this point is the word of wisdom.

We had a good lesson with Lee and we watched the blueprint of Christ's church by Tad R. Callister, which is an awesome talk. You guys should definitely watch it if you haven't! We had dinner with Bro. Arrington this week. He is the one who made the bowls with us. He is an older guys who lives alone because his wife died last year and he is super smart!! Before we ate he took us to Holley Falls which is a pretty cool little place that I guess not too many people know about.

Church was good yesterday with Joseph there and I had to play the organ for sacrament meeting. Sunday night we went to the Warrens for dinner and we had a barbecue and he used to be a head chef at a restaurant so it was super good! Today we got transfer calls and......I'm staying for another transfer! So it will be 7 1/2 months at least in Brockport. My new companion is Elder Miller! We came out together which is a little different since we are both some of the older missionaries in the mission and Elder Glenn and Jones who came out with us too are companions so it's pretty weird and uncommon but it's going to be awesome! He is one of my best friends on the mission so it's going to be a blast and all of the college kids are back for school so the town livened up and there more people to talk to! Have a great week!

Love you!

"Arthur" ~ August 17, 2015

Hello everyone! This week was good! So just like the usual I'll just give you the highlights. We did a lot of service this week again. We moved two people out of the ward this week and this on lady from the Batavia Branch that lives in Albion called us to do service and that was a little different. All she really wanted us to do was her chores. We weeded, washed windows, and cleaned her garage so not really what missionaries are meant for but at least we still helped. We had interviews with President this week and I always love being around President. We actually got to go over a paragraph of my patriarchal blessing that I had questions about and I learned a lot from him!

The Spencerport Elders had a baptism this Saturday for a guy named Kurt but I had to be on exchanges in Batavia that day so I missed it unfortunately. I heard it was great though and now we have one more member to the ward. Exchanges we good too and I liked being in Batavia because it's a little bigger than Brockport. They have a semi pro baseball team kind of like the bees I guess and the stadium is right behind the Elders apartment so we got to watch the fireworks from the living room couch out the back doors.

We still can't get any of our investigators to come to church mainly because they all live like 20 miles away and it's hard to convince them to drive all of the way there especially when there are twenty or thirty other churches they could go to that aren't as far. We had a bible study class this week and that was good as usual. We also did the usual service at the other churches. We did he clothing shelf at the Episcopal, the food pantry at the episcopal, and served dinner at the Baptist church with the Methodist members... So kind of all mixed in here.

Everyone in the community knows me now since I've been here so long. Even the Methodist pastor came right up to me and gave me a hug yesterday so it's a little weird. Too bad none of he people want to read from the Book of Mormon or anything. Yesterday was elder Ahola’s birthday and he turned 24. We went over to the Workman’s last night for it and there are some sisters staying with them for medical reasons for the past week and she needed to be by Sister Workman while she heals but they went back to their area today. So we just had a little get together thing for him.

Anyways that's pretty much it!

Love you!

Making friends with the animals and trip to Palmyra Temple

Hey guys!

So this week wasn't anything out of the usually. We did a bunch of tracting, and street contacting. We had district meeting at the Workman’s house and had dinner there afterwards. We tried to teach a ton of people but most of them weren't home and even when we were tracting lots of people weren't home so I'm thinking that they are probably out on vacation for the last weeks of summer.

We were able to go to the temple on Tuesday with the Spencerport Elders and it was a great experience as usual. President was there and so were some other missionaries so it was a neat experience because the whole session was missionaries.

We did some service mowing some members’ lawns; we served dinner at the Episcopal church and various other service things. We helped the one guy in Holley pull some stumps out of his yard and then he gave us lunch so that was a plus.

Other than that it was all of the normal missionary stuff. Walking around trying to talk to people all-day and trying to give out Book of Mormons.

Hope you guys have a great week!

Love you!

He's pretty much the coolest dog ever! As soon as I sat down,  he jumped right on my lap and he wrestles with you.
