November 16th, 2015~ Transfer to Geneseo

Hey guys!

So this week was pretty good and had a couple of things out of the

ordinary. So in he beginning of the week we went to this interfaith meeting with all of the pastors from Brockport. It's good to be in the community and to help around. This week we couldn't really help with much there because all they talked about was helping homeless people and child care so us as missionaries can't do much about that.

We went on exchanges again this week and and were able to have some good lessons with some less actives in Albion. One really interesting thing we did was I had to go underneath this ladies old nasty trailer home and it was full of water and mud and nasty stuff! So we were fixing a couple of things under there, wrapping the pipes for winter, etc.. But I got sooo muddy! It kinda reminded me of working with you dad!

Then Sunday, we had a member of the seventy come to church and he spoke in sacrament and he taught third hour and it was awesome! I learned so much and they all seemed to apply to me. Then third hour he talked about the new thing on same sex marriage, and sabbath day. Then the big news for the week was I'm getting transferred to Geneseo to be with Elder Lavin and I'm in a four person apartment so it should be fun!

Anyways, I have to pack so have a good week!

The Palmyra Temple from the Hill Cumorah

Hey guys!

So this week was pretty fun!

Monday was p-day and we had the whole zone in Brockport to play basketball and have lunch, etc... We have been doing lots of walking around trying to tell people about the Hill Cumorah Pageant and handing out Book of Mormons. We got three new investigators this week and a couple potentials. We had a couple good lessons with people like Jim, Elizabeth, and Lee and Mary Jane. The one with Lee and Mary Jane was really good and we usually have lesson at Brother Britton’s house so he can help as well. He is super knowledgeable with the gospel and he's only around 30. Right now he's writing this big paper on all of the different numbers throughout the bible and what they mean and how they connect with the Book of Mormon, and he's just doing this in his spare time for fun.

We had a good lesson with Joseph and we set a baptismal date for September 5^th, so hopefully we can get him to do that. He did come to church this week with an inactive lady so double whammy.

Friday, we helped Bro. McNeese tear out his kitchen so it was just like when I used to help dad! So now he has an empty kitchen and no place to cook.

Saturday, we went to the sites with Lee and Mary Jane and they really liked it!! It was really nice that they could see all of the things that we had been talking about and before we were going home they wanted to go and walk around the temple and see it because we had been talking about it in a couple lessons and in Sunday school and they really like the idea of what we do in the temple. And there was a family getting married and getting pictures taken and they could see how happy they were so hopefully it made a good impression!

Sunday, was church and I got a candy bar and that's pretty much it!

Busy week and another trip to the beautiful Palmyra Temple

Hey guys!                                                                 March 30, 2015

This week was pretty good as usual. Monday, we had p-day and we were able to play some basketball and volleyball at the church. Elder Fauga and Elder Haws are the other elders serving in the Brockport ward. Elder Fauga is really good at volleyball and he wants to play in college for Long Beach. He's from Salt Lake but his family is originally from Samoa. And Elder Haws is really good at basketball but he is the same height as me. He got the short gene in his family... His cousin is Tyler Haws who plays for BYU. Then we started a FHE with some less active members and they have come to church two weeks in a row so that's awesome!

Tuesday, we helped some members move a chair and we had to move it from here to Henrietta! It was good though; we got to see some things like RIT and the city. We also went to Stevie T’s for lunch then we came back and do our usual stuff.

Wednesday, we had zone conference in Rochester and it was great to see all of the other missionaries in the zone and I learned a lot. Then after a few of us went to Nick Tahaus for garbage plates including Elder Longhurst who is related to the Longhursts who live in River Heights. And the owner really likes us and said we could put a signed picture of us on the wall!! So that will be awesome! We'll get our picture in the most famous food place in western NY! Presidents have gone there, talk show hosts like Jimmy Fallon, and dad you were talking about Kevin Hart, etc.... And we get our picture there!! It's kinda a dump and in a sketchy part of town but you can ask anyone in NY about it and they know what it is. 

We did all of our usual stuff during the week trying to find more people to teach and setting up more family mission plans with the members. We did run in to a bunch of atheists this week so that was interesting! We went to the temple on Saturday because it was the ward temple day. I really like the Palmyra temple! It's the only temple in the world where you can see out of the windows, so you can see the sacred grove from inside the temple.

Anyways it was a pretty good week! We have the Because He Lives video to help with the work now too! If you haven't seen it yet check it out! The senior couple, the Ray’s are leaving this week.  They used to live in Hyde Park, but now they live somewhere down by Layton. You guys should go visit them sometime, they are awesome! And she's Neil L. Anderson’s older sister so it sounds kind of weird when she talks about her little brother Neil!

Hello,                                                                                          February 23, 2015

This week was good. We taught our usual less active people during the week, nothing too out of the ordinary. Institute was cancelled this week because not very many of the students were going to be able to come. We went and did some service for some less actives this week and we had to dig through random piles of snow to try and find where he put his logs that he cut up during the summer. It took a while but we finally found them. His wife has 39 cats, which is kinda gross!

On Friday we went up to the temple with the Millers and stopped by a few of the less active members that live a long ways away that we don't usually get the chance to see on the way. Both the members said that they don't want to be part of the church anymore and want their records removed. It's kinda funny, since I've been in Wellsville, the branch has gone down probably ten people because we keep finding people who don't want anything to do with the church anymore. It's sad, but we can't force them to stay a part of a church they don't want to be in. So, on the way to the temple we stopped at this restaurant in Rochester called Crab Shack. It was voted best seafood place in Rochester. Dad you would probably like it. Then we went to the temple and did an endowment session and I was able to turn in some names that I found during family history nights when I was back in Springville. I also noticed that there were a bunch of possible duplicates on family search, so maybe you guys could see what was going on with that?

This Sunday we had church and some people from the temple presidency came and spoke and they were great speakers! Also some members from the Warsaw Branch came to ours because they had to cancel theirs because the pipes broke at their church. Then we had our missionary correlation meeting and dinner with the Millers.

Other than that nothing to exciting going on.

Response To Dad:

I heard Niagara Falls is pretty cool right now. Hopefully I get transferred to Buffalo some time so I can go and see it. I heard it looks a lot cooler from the Canada side but I can't go over there because it's out of the mission and I don't have a passport with me. I got to go to the temple this week again, which was cool. I've seen all of the films now. I guess everyone was talking about temples yesterday. We had some one from the temple presidency and his wife come and speak. They were in the Oakland, California temple visitors center on a mission then they immediately got called to here to be in this temple presidency. They've been home for one week in the last five years because of calls to serve. 

Snow caving sounds fun! If you want some snow we've got tons for ya.
